Does fear…

                                     … disappear!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
      2 Tim 1:7

God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but that does not mean
… that fear will not try to come upon us,
… that fear will not try to take hold of our minds.
Not at all,
… fear is always trying to come into our lives!

What the Bible does say is that,
… we have not been given a spirit of fear,
so fear is NOT part of our makeup.
However that does not make it disappear,
… as it is up to us whether we allow it to stay,
… and allow it to take hold of our minds.

In other words,
we need to reject what is NOT ours,
and stand against those thoughts, by

casting down arguments and every high thing
that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
      bringing every thought into captivity
      to the obedience of Christ,
      2 Cor 10:5

As it is written …

For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
      2 Tim 1:7

Let Him be your strength, your source and your guide
… and fear will find no place in you!

Damage control…

                                     despite the cost!

Is it possible that God is in any way limited?
Believe it or not, He is,
… by His own decisions.
For the one thing that limits God’s infiniteness
… is the limit He put on it Himself,
in giving man a free will.

      God honours our choices,
… even when they are wrong,
… and even when they hurt us.
However, because of His infinite love for us,
God has a plan to help us when we missed it,
… to make the best of our bad decision.

That however requires that we use our free will,
… to accept His revised plan,
… and get back to where we should have been
where God planned for us to be in the first place.

Yes, there may be costly consequences
.. because of our wrong decisions,
but if we allow God to guide us back into His perfect plan,
He can and will limit the cost to us!

Listen to counsel and receive instruction,
that you may be wise in your latter days.
      Proverbs 19 20

                                     sets you free!

The Bible instructs us to…

if you have anything against anyone, forgive him,
that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
      Mark 11 25

I have tried that…
but just saying ‘I forgive…’ doesn’t seem to work.
However, if God wants us to forgive,
… then what about following His example!

But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
      Rom 5 8

How did God forgive us?
God forgave us by loving us,
… not looking at what we have done wrong,
but looking at what He could do,
… to help us out of the mess we got ourselves into.

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
      John 8 36

Through His love for us, God forgave us,
… which set us free … totally free!
By the same token,
if we forgive others by loving them
… instead of judging them,
not only are they free, but so are we!

And above all things have fervent love for one another,
for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’
      1 Peter 4 8

                                                     … take it!

Air is free
… but you have to breathe it (yourself).
As Jesus said to us,

I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.
      John 10 10

Life is available,
… but it is up to us to take hold of that life in Jesus,
… to use the abilities we have been given
and to live the potential God has provided for us.

However, God not only gave us abilities,
… He also gave us responsibilities.
As with the air, although it is free,
… what am I doing with it?
Am I using it or abusing it.

If I do not use the abilities that I have been given,
… I will NOT benefit in the way I should!
If I don’t creatively use and develop the potential I have,
… I will not touch the lives of others as I should!
And …
if I don’t care how I use or even abuse what I have,
… the potential given me will be lost!

      In other words,
We need to use our special creative abilities
… that we have from God,
and walk in the fullness of life that is available to us.

Air is free!
Abilities are free!
Wisdom is free!
Success is free!

They are all there in Jesus …
So, what about taking and using what is yours!

Want to learn…

                                     … or be taught?

Often when we read the Bible,
… or hear different translations of Scripture,
we are not always sure how to correctly interpret
… what we are reading
… what we are hearing!

      Are we missing something?
      Are we understanding correctly?

Praise God that the apostle John wrote this for us …

But the anointing which you have received from Him
      abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you;
but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things,
and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you,
      you will abide in Him.
      1 John 2 27

Being taught is not the most important part,
BUT, are you wanting to learn?

Do YOU want to know what God says about His Word?
Then let Him help you!
God has sent the Holy Spirit to be your helper,
… to help you understand what He has written in His Word,
… to help you to live what God says and expects!

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will
send in My name, He will teach you all things,
and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
      John 14 2

Are you ready to listen and to learn?
God has already prepared the way!

Wanna be …

                                          … successful?

Want to be all that you were created to be?
Want to be able, creative and successful?

Of course we should ask God for help,
… however the Apostle wrote this in his epistle,

But do you want to know, O foolish man,
that faith without works is dead?
      James 2 20

God put abilities and creativity in us.
It is however not His responsibility to make them work,
… but it is our responsibility to activate them in our lives!

We need to respond to the abilities God put in us.
We need to add the works to those abilities.
Abilities that have all the potential that God put in them,
… but whether they are of benefit to us,
      … is in our hands!

You have to get personally involved
… and actively use those abilities you have.
… what you have in you,
… will be of no benefit to you!

      You have it,
      … it’s yours,
      put it to work!

Judge not …

                                                       … pray!

      Judge not…
… for if you judge what there is,
… or judge what is happening,
you get sucked into the problem!

      But …
      In any or every situation
      … pray!

Take every thought and every picture captive,
… bringing them under His Lordship,
… bringing them under the Word of God!

casting down arguments and every high thing
that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
      2 Corinthians 10 5

Then …
Pray for what there should be,
… what the Word of God says,
… that God’s will and purposes be done.
For …
That will lift you above the situation,
… to that place where God’s Word is the standard,
and where what you say
… is what there should be,
… is what you want,
and is the answer to the situation!

Judge not, that you be not judged.
      For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged;
and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
      Matthew 7 1-2

                                          … the blame game!

Often when relationships are broken off
… it is not so much about who is to blame,
but about bad or unpleasant consequences!

This should not be!
So why does it happen?

Lack of self value … NOT being honest!

      Before the relationship begins …
      – giving yourself for the wrong reasons!
      – not being honest with yourself!
In other words, only looking for your own gratification!

      During the relationship …
      – looking for acceptance or esteem from others!
      – not being honest with the other!

      After the relationship …
      – blaming the other for the broken relationship!

If value and honesty are lived BEFORE a relationship,
… a wrong relationship would most likely never have started.
Motives will become clear before something goes wrong,
… before someone gets hurt!

Even as the Bible gives us direction…

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
      Matthew 19:19

Only if you love (value) yourself,
can you truly love (value) others!

Do you truly value (love) yourself?

                                     … you need a change!

Stress and the resultant burnout, are real
… and are becoming more and more prevalent,
because we are trying to do too much for too long.

Constantly being busy, making a living,
… trying to achieve more and more all the time
… may well be called life,
but it is like having the same dream every night,
      … caught in a maze
from which you can’t see a way of escape.

If you keep working and working,
… eventually your brain goes into neutral,
with the result that your mind stops functioning.
Because it is NOT being stimulated,
… being not only used, but actually abused.

Your brain, your mind, your emotions – need breathing space,
      … they need a rest, a break, a holiday,
      They NEED a CHANGE!
It is not about what you change,
… but that you open yourself up to change.

Make ‘taking a break’ part of your life, a regular practice,
… time to breathe, and to see life from a different perspective.
It will help you deal with what you have to do,
… and show you the way to a new step in your life!

      As the saying goes,
… a change is as good as a holiday!

Why is God …

                                          … not answering?

I am talking to God and I am asking of God,
… but God does not seem to be hearing
because God does not seem to be responding!

      Actually, God is talking,
… but not with an audible voice as we may expect
because God speaks to our inner being,
… to our hearts, to our minds.

We therefore need to be expectant
because as soon as we ask … God answers!

But, how will we know that it was God?
Well, normally it is something that we need to do,
… and never really a surprise to us,
but as it is mostly something we don’t want to do,
… we so easily reject it,
even though we usually know that it needs to be done!

      So …
      Ask again …
… and this time listen and expect to hear.

… go do what God said to do!

God will not nag you to obey.
God WILL help you to obey
… as soon as you are ready to obey.

My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
      2 Corinthians 12 9
