The love of art …

                                    … the art of love!

What is art?
The expression of me,
… of my thoughts and my feelings.
The way I see things,
… the way I think.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
      Proverbs 23 7

What is love?
The expression of my inner image
… of my heart, my character, of my Creator.
The Image of God in me!

      So God created man in His own image;
      – male and female He created them.
      Genesis 1 27

And what is that image?
The image and character of God!

God is love, and he who abides in love
abides in God, and God in him.
      1John 4 16

An ingenious ability…

                                    …a unique ability!

Human beings are not only unique in their make-up and ability,
… but they are also unique in their needs and demands!
So how do we deal with or respond to this uniqueness?

Well… in our toolkit of unique abilities,
there is that thing called … ingenuity!

Imaginative, creative, inventive, original, resourceful, skilful …
      simply – ingenious!

And it is this ability that we have that enables us
… to make use of natural elements,
… to utilize available resources,
… to beneficially apply natural laws,
that challenges us to look beyond the problem,
… to visualise and find a resourceful solution,
in order to meet or satisfy our unique demands.

In other words,
we are not only ingenious in the way we solve problems,
… but we are also ingenious in unearthing challenges.
Because of our desire to live, grow, develop and increase,
… and therefore we are constantly looking into the unknown,
wanting to use and express what is in us
… that ingenious, unique ability to visualise
… and get to materialise our unique pictures!
To do more, better, develop and uncover the unknown.

      I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
      Marvellous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
      Ps 139 14

Life Kit

                                      … get connected!

To live you need to learn,
… and apply what you have learnt, in life!

      To prosper, and be successful,
… you need more than just knowledge or application.
      You need an objective,
      … a plan, a purpose and a goal!

The question is, how do you learn?
… Where do you find out how to live?
… Where do you find out how to apply what you have learnt?
And most of all,
… how do you determine what the goal of your life is!
In other words,
… how do you get that plan, that purpose,
… that will lead you to your goal?

Read the manual …

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
      He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
      for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
      I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
      You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
      Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
      Psalm 23

As a man thinks

                                         …so is he!

There is a proverb that reveals a secret to life,
… a truth we should seriously consider…

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
      Prov 23 7

How you see yourself
… is going to build or breakdown your character,
… is going to shape your future,
… is going to determine what you achieve!

In this world, negative thoughts are close to the surface,
… they are quick on the tongue.
The news and most every other kind of media
… suggest and drive most of our daily thinking.

There is a saying that is worth remembering in all of this,
… NO news is GOOD news!

However … in order to be positive and reaching goals,
… there need to be possibilities, opportunities, ability etc.
You are certainly not going to find possibilities or opportunities
by being negative,

Where there is no vision, the people perish:
      Prov 29 18

Start seeing yourself as able, as an achiever.
Start making pictures of who you would like to be,
… of where you would like to be
… of what you would like to achieve,
for only then can God help you accomplish what He has put in you,
… and help you live that victorious life He has for you.

The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses
and in all to which you set your hand,
      Deut 28 8

Benefitting from…

There is so much around us that we can benefit from,
but …
even though we can draw from the achievements of others,
no one truly benefits from what someone else has done
nor will you achieve much in life
… unless you develop your own abilities!

Sure you can and should look at what others have done,
… for ideas, inspiration and direction.
But only as you start looking at what is in you,
… at your own abilities and develop your own vision,
only then will you find true inspiration and real success!

The ability is there in you
… and possibilities are in front of you,
but they will only become a reality in your life,
… when you start putting a demand on them
by DOING something!

      Consider this truth or reality,
… if you can think it, it IS possible,
maybe not exactly as you first visualise it,
      … BUT it is possible!

Believe in yourself, and what is in you will come out.

Start making a demand on your abilities,
… by noting the potential you see or believe there is.
visualise and develop what you have perceived or seen,
then the potential that is in YOU will begin to be released,
and the abilities that are in you will start working for you!

But do you want to know, O foolish man,
that faith without works is dead?
      James 2:20

Use your Imagination

                                      … it’s powerful!

      Imagination makes you see something
… that you may never have thought possible.
      Kids have wonderful imaginations,
… which only goes to prove that
imagination is a natural part of our makeup.

This process or ability should never be allowed to stop,
and all we should do is to add faith to that dream!

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not (yet) seen.
      Hebrews 11:1

Today’s journey is a stepping stone to tomorrow’s reality,
… and what you do and put time and effort into today,
is what lays the foundation of what you will achieve tomorrow.

Dreams and imaginations have no expiry date,
… and will work for you every day of your life.
However, if you are going to win in life,
… you have to make up your mind that you are able.
      And when you decide that
… you are a success going somewhere to succeed,
that is when you start winning in life.

Sure we all need help, and help is available,

And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Philippians 4:19

If you put your imagination and abilities in God’s hands,
He will put His imagination and abilities in your hands.

… and what is the exceeding greatness of His power
toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
      Ephesians 1:17-20

Creating value

                                                   … in life!

The root of creativity is life,
… the reason to be creative is to
add or increase value to whatever is around you!

Sounds good, but how do you do that?

      As an individual,
… if you add value to your skills,
… if you add value to your words,
… if you add value to relationships,
they will add value to your life!

The society you are living in,
… you can add value to schooling,
… you can add value to your community,
to enrich and add value to the lives of others!

      And, in your workplace,
… you should add value to what you do,
… by adding value to the resources you use.
This will not only add value to yourself,
but will also encourage others to add value where they are!

For you to truly live an abundant life,
you need to add value,
… to what you have and to what you are doing!

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love (value) the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it:
‘You shall love (value) your neighbour as yourself.’
      Matt 22:37-39

Looking for A picture

… that reveals who He is!

What is the first principle in good communication?
Be a good picture maker!

People think in pictures and people talk in pictures,
like God’s very first descriptive words to mankind,
A picture of having an abundance to share!

What picture are you giving others of God?
Is it a picture of a loving God
… who wants only the best for their lives?
If so they WILL want to know your God,
… and to experience His goodness and His kindness!
Therefore, don’t go telling them about your God,
… but rather let them see Him in you and in your actions,
and they will want to know more about Him.

The second principle in good communication is,
answer the question, don’t preach.

If your answer gives a real picture,
… a tangible answer to their question,
… they will ask you for more,
and you will be that ‘painter’
… who reveals a real God to others,
that shows them the reality of who He is… Love!

Then He said, To what shall we liken the kingdom of God?
Or with what parable shall we picture it?
      Mark 4:30

What limits you

… is not what you don’t have!

It is NOT about what you don’t have.

What limits or hinders your progress or success in life,
… is not about what you don’t have,
but about not using what you do have!

Therefore you need to know,
… what resources, opportunities and abilities you have,
and also,
how to creatively use the resources that you have!

      In other words,
… don’t let what is known or normal be your yardstick,
but always and in everything look past the known,
… beyond what is usual or normal,
for ways of using what you have and what you know,
… and for new solutions or answers outside the norm or expected!

Don’t let what is known limit your thinking,
… but let that creativity that is in you
take you from where you are,
… with what you have in your hands.
to something different, something special, something NEW!

Nothing New

                                Nothing you see… is new!

Nothing is new!

There are no new things inside something ‘new’ you made,
… all the ingredients you used were already there before!
So why are you calling it new?

It is not about what you put inside it,
… it is also not actually about how it looks,
… it may even have a new look,
but that still does not make it new!

What then is new?

      It is about application,
… and what it can do.
It is about what you can use it for,
… that gives it a value
It is about the change it brings,
… that makes it brand new

The creativity in us!

There is creativity in all of us,
… that we need to release,
A creative ability that when used,
      … will make something new
… out of stuff that is old!
