… what He does for you?
Why does God do in our lives what He does?
Simply because He loves us
The Bible also tells us …
Now hope does not disappoint, because
the love of God has been poured out in our hearts
by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Rom 5 5
Therefore God says to us, in fact implores us to …
seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
Matt 6 33
What are we to seek?
God, His love for us, and
how He wants to express that love through us!
And we have known and believed the love that God
has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love
abides in God, and God in him.
1 John 4 16
What does that mean in our lives?
God knows we need love, we need Him,
so He made it easy for us …
We love Him because He first loved us.
1 John 4 19
Yes God loved us first,
… all we need do is to love Him back,
by loving those around us!
… what about hell?
If God’s love for us is eternal,
… then how can anyone go to hell for eternity?
Since God is love, hell is certainly NOT His plan.
However, LOVE is only real and effectual,
… where it is accepted, and where it is valued.
The parable of the prodigal son (the son of Love)
… clearly pictures this reality for us – (Luke 15 11-24)
The prodigal son (mankind) decided to be his own source,
… took what was given to him by the father (Love) and
separated himself from Love (from the source of life).
It wasn’t long before what the son saw as heaven,
… turned out to be hell,
feeding pigs and no one caring about him!
So he decided to return to the father,
… only expecting to be treated as a servant.
Yet the father already saw him from afar,
… and with no set conditions or any expectations,
… ran out to meet his son and embraced him,
… restoring him, as his son, the son of his love!
That is LOVE!
When we decide to separate ourselves from love
… we separate ourselves unto hell!
God’s will for us is love, is life…
I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.
… the blame game!
Often when relationships are broken off
… it is not so much about who is to blame,
but about bad or unpleasant consequences!
This should not be!
So why does it happen?
Lack of self value … NOT being honest!
Before the relationship begins …
– giving yourself for the wrong reasons!
– not being honest with yourself!
In other words, only looking for your own gratification!
During the relationship …
– looking for acceptance or esteem from others!
– not being honest with the other!
After the relationship …
– blaming the other for the broken relationship!
If value and honesty are lived BEFORE a relationship,
… a wrong relationship would most likely never have started.
Motives will become clear before something goes wrong,
… before someone gets hurt!
Even as the Bible gives us direction…
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Only if you love (value) yourself,
can you truly love (value) others!
Do you truly value (love) yourself?
… to God!
God not only made everything we can see,
… the visible and the invisible,
in its finest and most intricate detail,
… (as Jesus said, even the hair on our head is counted).
But God is equally passionate about the life
… and well-being of mankind,
His special creation.
God takes interest in all of creation,
… and that includes you!
and He is interested in everything that interests you.
However there is a very real condition to this.
You must invite Him to be part of your life,
… and to be involved in your concerns.
What does that mean in your life?
If God and what He does matters to you,
… and you open yourself up to Him,
and you’re willing to receive and obey His instructions,
… so He can take care of you,
… what matters to you becomes His concern.
Which simply means,
… if it matters to you,
… it matters to God.
… for who you are!
We have all been hurt, disappointed, even rejected in life,
… as a child, in school or in a relationship,
and based on what happened in the past
we easily see ourselves as being rejected
… even before we get rejected.
So, how do we overcome those negative thoughts,
… and how do we forget what happened in the past?
Stop digging up old bones!
Peter once asked Jesus …
‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me,
and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’
Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times,
but up to seventy times seven.’
Matt 18 21-22
Why did Jesus say that?
God wants us to forgive, so we can forget,
…so we can get released from the past,
and be free to live the future.
Sure, you cannot change the past,
… but don’t let the past shape, rule and ruin your future.
Free yourself from pressure or hurt,
… by loving others in spite of the past,
and love yourself into a wonderful future
… with Him and in Him!
for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’
1 Peter 4 8
Learn to love…!
Life is …
… not about pride,
… it’s about being proud.
Life is …
… not just about love,
… it’s about living love.
Life is …
… not just about value,
… it’s about the value of others.
For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son …
John 3 16
God was so proud of His creation (man)
… that He gave His best on behalf of man!
God so loved His creation (man)
… that He reached out to man who rejected Him!
God so valued His creation (man)
… that He personally expressed His love to man,
by restoring man’s righteousness before Him!
And we have known and believed
the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God,
and God in him.
1 John 4 16
… faith, hope, love!
And now abide faith, hope, love,
but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13 13
Now faith abides
… by living your faith in God,
… by living where you are
in the way that He would!
Now hope abides
… by living your hope in God,
… by living in His faithfulness!
Now love abides
… by living His love,
… by living according to His value system
and valuing others as He values you!
By this we know love,
because He laid down His life for us.
And we also ought to
lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3 16
What we live is what we are,
… is the value we have to give,
… is the value we will receive!
for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
Galatians 6 7
…the way He does!
We talk about our achievements,
… what we can do and what we have.
But what about who we are,
… and how valued or valuable we are?
Do you really value your life?
What is that value anyway?
The value that God has in your life,
… is the value He will put in your life,
is the value of your life,
… is the value you will be able to share with others,
How does that work or manifest in my life?
It is all about believing, it is all about faith!
But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
The faith that God has in what He has created,
… and the faith that He has in you,
… is the faith that you also need to have in Him!
Because that is what enables you to live in His provision,
… through His love for you,
and through what Jesus did for you!
Now the just shall live by faith;
The question therefore is,
Do you value yourself and do you value God?
Because if you do you’ll walk in what God has already done for you!
good or bad?
Traditions … the passing on of beliefs and practices,
… can be both good and bad!
For this reason we are encouraged to…
Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
Tradition, depending on what it is based on,
… can be the sharing of principles that have value,
… and in that way build character.
However, tradition is often based on heresy and fear,
… fear of the unknown and thus of change.
As a result it limits development, progress and change,
… because it stems the freedom to think and to visualise.
making the word of God of no effect through your tradition
which you have handed down. And many such things you do.
Mark 7 13
Therefore, do what the word of God says to do …
Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
Real progress is not about getting or having more,
… but about upliftment, development and value!
… but shun what is negative, controlling and based on fear.
Look for what is positive and what you can develop,
… that will create and bring value to others.
… made meaningful!!
The value and power of modern media,
… in particular social and multimedia programs,
lie not in the technology or multi communication possibilities,
… but in the actual message that is being projected.
The true potential of multimedia platforms,
… lies in the value that is conveyed to others,
and thus the positive impact that it has on their lives.
People know the difference between videos and real life,
… and they know the difference between real and fiction,
so why this interest in social and digital media?
The world is looking for direction and for answers
… that will give them hope for the future.
So, what others see you doing, living or projecting,
… is what shows them the reality of your life,
and the potential of what is possible in life.
People are looking at what you are saying and doing,
… looking for answers to questions in their lives.
… if your life and what you ‘post’ is positive, meaningful,
… it will give them answers and hope for their futures,
… through your life and actions they can see what is possible,
… what their lives can be or can become!
Be that video, write that ‘post’ that expresses value,
… that brings excitement and hope into the lives of others.
