Supplying your needs…

                                        – according to –

How does God give you what you ask for?
How does God supply your needs?

Well, what did Jesus do…?

When a multitude followed Jesus to hear Him teach,
… eventually they were hungry and needed food.
Jesus told His disciples to feed the multitude,
      … they replied

We have here only five loaves and two fish.
      Matt 14 17

In actual fact, those few fish and loaves
… were not even enough for the disciples.
So, did Jesus give them money to go buy food?
      No!

He took the five loaves and the two fish,
looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves
and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
So they all ate and were filled,
      Matt 14 19-20

And … when all had eaten,
… there was more left over than when they started,
because God does not supply according to our need.

So how did Jesus supply in the need of that multitude?

And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Phil 4 19

The impossible becomes possible

                             … when need becomes desire!

When lack or need becomes want or desire,
… what seemed to be impossible becomes possible!

Why? How?
      Need is always about expectations,
… about waiting for others to act,
… for others to do so that you will benefit!

      Desire on the other hand
… puts the onus on you to act.
Desire motivates you to do something about that need!
… and makes you responsible to act on your own behalf.

Stop needing and start seeding,
… start putting something in,
so that those answers can come out!

But, I don’t have the resources to accomplish my dream!

All the more reason to formulise your desire,
to make it real in your mind, in your thinking,
… so that you can share it with others.
Most people want to be part of whatever has potential,
and finding help with what you are willing to invest in
… is not a problem.
Even God is waiting to help!

God will bless … all to which you set your hand,
      Deut 28 8

In fact God says that He will, and He does…

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower,
      and bread for food,
supply and multiply the seed you have sown
and increase the fruits of your righteousness
      2 Cor 9 10

Murphy’s Law

                                          … the way to go!

Have you noticed, in most any or every crisis
… Murphy is not phased at all
… and his laws still work!

For those who don’t know Murphy’s Law
      basically, it is …
If it can go wrong, it will go wrong.
      and…
that’s not the way it supposed to be!

So, what is Murphy’s secret?
Don’t be the way others think you should be!
Don’t do what others expect you to do!
But …
simply be DIFFERENT!

How does that work?

Don’t expect things to always be the same,
      … expect change,
      … look for change,
… look for development, for growth,
… expect increase, blessing and peace.
      Expect God!

So how can I do that?

And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good
and acceptable and perfect will of God.
      Rom 12 2

Needing answers…

                                            … but getting none?

We all have questions and problems in our lives
… that we need help with and need answers to,
and God very specifically tells us what to do …

Call to Me, and I will answer you,
and show you great and mighty things,
      which you do not know.
      Jeremiah 33 3

God says – ‘if you need an answer – ASK Me!’
However, you may well say,
… I have asked and never received an answer.
Fact is, it was not that God did not answer,
but that you did not listen!

It is not about asking and waiting for God to say and do
… what you have prayed, asked and expect Him to do!
      NO!
      Because, in most cases
God’s answer is different from what you think or expect.
      Don’t forget …
God said – ‘I WILL ANSWER YOU!’
Therefore,it is not about what you think or you need,
      but about what God knows,
… and what He will show you and will do for you!

So, what should you do?
Simply believe that God WILL answer you,
… that He knows the right answer to your need,
and that He is able to do what needs to be done!

As Jesus said …
      If you can believe,
      all things are possible
to him who believes.
      Mark 9 23

God’s riches in glory

                                      … is NOT money!
life

Money is not a blessing,
… and it is not our source,
and it is not what Deuteronomy 28 is all about.

And all these blessings shall come
      upon you and overtake you,
      Deut 28 2

Money is not the answer to your need
… and is not what Phil 4 19 is all about.

And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Phil 4 19

For God does NOT bless us according to our need,
but He blesses us according to His supply.
It is by His goodness and His riches in glory
… that God supplies and that God blesses.

It is not about money in your hands,
… where you decide on how, where and when.
When God is your source,
… He decides HOW He will supply your need,
and which riches will take care of your need.

Money is only a tool …
and unless God is your source,
… all the money in the world
      will never truly benefit you
… or take care of ALL that you need.

God wants to bless you, but
are you ready to trust Him
and to let Him do it His way?

More important is…

                                          … the why & how!

We always look to the end result,
… to what we want – which is ok,
but when it comes to God being involved,
the why and the how is much more important.

      In other words,
It is not about what you do for God,
… or how you do what you do,
      With God it is about
… why you do what you do!

Therefore, it is not about the need,
… because there will always be a need.
But as Jesus said,
… it’s about how that need is met,

I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.
      John 10 10

That simply means
… that for every need there is already a provision,
and our prayer therefore should always be
from a position of victory.

And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Philippians 4 19

It is NOT according to our need
… BUT according to His supply!
So, pray His will, according to His word,
… and the answer will be according to His supply!

Fill your mind…

                                            … with His goodness!

What you will find when you read God’s Word,
… very much depends on what you are looking for.
If you are looking for His judgement,
… that is what you’ll find.
If you are looking for His goodness,
… you’ll surely find a loving God.
In fact, the way God will work in your life,
… depends on how you respond to Him.

If you see God as harsh and judgemental,
… your thinking will be negative
thus your relationship with Him will be negative.

If you see God as the loving God that He is,
… you will open yourself to His goodness,
and His promises become a reality in your life.

What you have done wrong in your life
… does not phase God,
for in Jesus that is all taken care of,
… all you need do is to let Him in!

for love will cover a multitude of sins.
      1 Peter 4 8

As you allow God Himself into your life
… and as you let His presence envelop you,
He will surround you with His love
and He will fill your life with his goodness.

      In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
      Psalms 16 11

Burnout…

                                     … you need a change!

Stress and the resultant burnout, are real
… and are becoming more and more prevalent,
because we are trying to do too much for too long.

Constantly being busy, making a living,
… trying to achieve more and more all the time
… may well be called life,
but it is like having the same dream every night,
      … caught in a maze
from which you can’t see a way of escape.

If you keep working and working,
… eventually your brain goes into neutral,
with the result that your mind stops functioning.
Why?
Because it is NOT being stimulated,
… being not only used, but actually abused.

Your brain, your mind, your emotions – need breathing space,
      … they need a rest, a break, a holiday,
      They NEED a CHANGE!
It is not about what you change,
… but that you open yourself up to change.

Make ‘taking a break’ part of your life, a regular practice,
… time to breathe, and to see life from a different perspective.
It will help you deal with what you have to do,
… and show you the way to a new step in your life!

      As the saying goes,
… a change is as good as a holiday!

Why are you asking

                                         …and not receiving?

      Asking is easy (well mostly),
… but receiving seems so difficult,
      even elusive!

Why?
Because just asking is not enough!

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss,
that you may spend it on your pleasures.
      James 4 3

The most important principle in life,
… and the first thing God said to man,
is also the foundation to living life,

      Then God blessed them,
and God said to them, “Be fruitful…
      Gen 1 28

Life is not about getting what you need or want.
Life is about what you do with what you have,
… using what you have for the benefit of others!
Also,
… as you reach out to others,
… you are actually sowing into their lives,
and you WILL reap in proportion to your sowing!

      Therefore …
Why are you asking what you are asking for?
Is it just for yourself? (what is your motive?)
or is it also about others? (that’s being fruitful).

Don’t ask amiss and miss your blessing!

What you say or do

                                      … can change a life!

Telling others they are stupid, useless or lazy,
… even if they are,
is most likely no revelation to them,
… and will certainly not help them in any way.

Look for something positive in their lives,
… and let them know you care for them.
That way you will gain their attention (confidence),
and if you are sincere, you will gain their trust.

When others notice that you see good in them,
… they will start seeing themselves differently,
and as you make them aware that there is hope for them,
… they will start seeing hope in themselves,
start seeing answers and a way forward,
… a hope in life and in the future.

Have you noticed that some children,
… seem to go further more easily in life than others?
Is it because they are smarter?
      No, I don’t think so,
it’s more likely because of the way they are brought up.

One may say that they are being spoilt,
… that their parents keep giving to them so much.
However what is also happening is that
the children are being shown that they are special,
… that they are valuable,
… and therefore they expect to be blessed.

If you expect more of life,
… you will achieve more in life!
