The act …

                                          … of forgiveness!

To forgive, or saying you forgive someone
… is easy.
Getting out from under the pressure of condemnation
because of what was said or has happened,
… that’s difficult.

So what do you do?
You make the decision to forgive
by surrounding that person with love
as an act of faith.

When thoughts of that person come up,
are you going to remember what happened
… and dwell on the past?
      Or …
are you going to bless and uplift that person
… because you made the decision to forgive?

The choice is yours.

If you have decided to forgive,
… then every time you think of that person,
speak blessing and life over that person.
Don’t harbour negative or condemning thoughts.
That act of faith to be positive and to bless,
… is what will free you from the negative past.

Judge not, and you shall not be judged.
Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Give, and it will be given to you:
      Luke 6 37-38

What is believing …

                                          … all about?

You may be familiar with these scripture verses:

      And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.
      1 Corinthians 13 13

      but faith working through love.
      Galatians 5 6

What are they all about,
… and how do they work?

Hope – is what you want!………………….. Rom. 5 5
Believe – is what you do to get!………….. Mark 9 23
Faith – is how you get it!………………….. Rom. 1 17
Trust – is what you do till you get it!……… Prov. 3 5
Love – is Who gets it for you! (does it)….. 1John 4 16

Sounds good … but where do I start?
If you start at the end,
… the beginning becomes clear and easy!

And we have known and believed
the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love
abides in God, and God in him.
      1 John 4 16

If you go to the provider,
He will not only show you the way,
… but He will secure the provision.

      looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith,
      Hebrews 12 2

How faith …

                                                 … works!

To say faith works is easy,

… but HOW does it actually operate?
How does faith make what you believe happen?

A woman once came to a pastor (Bill Winston) asking him
what to do about the drug dealers in her street?
He said, ‘well let’s ask God what to do!’
      God said,
… ‘Anoint oil and pour it down the middle of the street’
The woman was desperate and actually did that!
Four days later she told the pastor,
… ‘They came back the next day,
… left after only an hour and never returned!’

How did that happen?
Because of her act of faith!
… God works by faith, our faith.
God needs us to obey what He says,
… so He can use it to give us the desired answer.
It wasn’t the oil, it was her obedience, her faith in His word!

And all these blessings shall come upon you
      and overtake you, because
you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
      Deuteronomy 28 2

Too often we concern ourselves with
how will God make that work,
when all that’s important is that He WILL do it!
BUT are we willing to listen and obey?

If you are willing and obedient,
      You shall eat the good of the land;
      Isaiah 1 19

Expect the impossible

                                                    … to actually happen!

When we think of God and what He can do,
… we expect the impossible to be possible!
Yet, when we go to God,
… we go to Him with our wants,
… with what we can visualize or see Him do.
So where then is His impossible,
… that impossible that we talk about,
when in fact we limit Him to what we can see or believe?
STOP.
God cannot truly be GOD in your life
… unless you let HIM be GOD in your life!

When God looks at our lives
… and at our circumstances or needs,
He doesn’t see what we see,
He sees what He has planned and purposed,
… what He can do and what He has promised.

Therefore…
if you want to have and live what God promised in His Word,
… you need to start seeing things the way He sees them.
God’s promises are not just words in a book,
… but are His express will for your life!

When you start taking God at His Word,
… believing what He says,
… seeing what He sees, the way He does things,
that is when faith becomes real.

And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Phil 4 19

The Works

                                                    … of faith!

What did James mean when he said…

      Thus also faith by itself,
if it does not have works, is dead.
      James 2 17

Evidently, what we do and why we do it
… does have spiritual and physical importance!

The things we do in the natural,
… in our own strength,
are works that are subject to physical laws,
… the result of which is governed by natural laws.

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law
but by faith in Jesus Christ …
for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
      Gal 2 16

This clearly tells us that what we do in our own strength,
… does NOT activate spiritual laws.
So how do spiritual laws get activated and work?

Spiritual laws are based on what God has done,
and are activated by standing on and responding to,
      … what God has prepared,
      … what Jesus has done,
… what the Holy Spirit makes happen!

Yes there are physical actions and manifestations,
… in response to our faith, to what we believe.
BUT
… they are all based or founded on spiritual laws
and not our actions in trying to get God to do something
THAT IS ALREADY DONE!

Righteous

                                           … or not!

      How does one become righteous?
Because to stop sinning seems impossible!

Truth is that …
Righteousness and sin are total opposites,
… and not sinning won’t make you righteous anyway!

So what do I need to do?

What you need to do about sin,
… is NOT to try to stop sinning,
because that is impossible for man!

What you need to do about righteousness,
… is NOT trying to live right.

The reality of becoming righteous,
… is NOT about what you do or do not do,
but it is all about what Jesus has done!

Just as Jesus did not become sin by sinning,
      … so also,
we don’t become righteous by doing righteous things!

Jesus became sin by taking our sin on the cross,
and because of His righteous act on our behalf,
we become righteous by receiving His righteousness,

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
      2 Corinthians 5 21

Walking in faith

                                           … a journey!

Our faith walk is a journey,
… a journey of discovering more & more of God
… and of Jesus and what He has done for us!

However is your search
… for Him, or about Him?
What are you looking for?

Are you looking for His promises?
Are you looking for His works?
      or …
      Are you looking for Him?

The reality of faith
… is to get to know Jesus more intimately,
The substance of faith
… is your response to what you see in Him!

If you see salvation in Him,
      … you will find salvation!
If you see healing in Him,
      … you will find healing!
If you see wisdom in Him,
      … He becomes your wisdom!

Our faith walk is not about looking for blessings,
but about walking with the One who blesses!

for in Him we live and move and have our being,
      Acts 17 28

Wanna be …

                                          … successful?

Want to be all that you were created to be?
Want to be able, creative and successful?

Of course we should ask God for help,
… however the Apostle wrote this in his epistle,

But do you want to know, O foolish man,
that faith without works is dead?
      James 2 20

God put abilities and creativity in us.
It is however not His responsibility to make them work,
… but it is our responsibility to activate them in our lives!

We need to respond to the abilities God put in us.
We need to add the works to those abilities.
Abilities that have all the potential that God put in them,
… but whether they are of benefit to us,
      … is in our hands!

You have to get personally involved
… and actively use those abilities you have.
Otherwise,
… what you have in you,
… will be of no benefit to you!

      You have it,
      … it’s yours,
      put it to work!

Why is God …

                                          … not answering?

I am talking to God and I am asking of God,
… but God does not seem to be hearing
because God does not seem to be responding!

      Actually, God is talking,
… but not with an audible voice as we may expect
because God speaks to our inner being,
… to our hearts, to our minds.

We therefore need to be expectant
because as soon as we ask … God answers!

But, how will we know that it was God?
Well, normally it is something that we need to do,
… and never really a surprise to us,
but as it is mostly something we don’t want to do,
… we so easily reject it,
even though we usually know that it needs to be done!

      So …
      Ask again …
… and this time listen and expect to hear.

      Then,
… go do what God said to do!

Remember,
God will not nag you to obey.
But,
God WILL help you to obey
… as soon as you are ready to obey.

My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
      2 Corinthians 12 9

Proud…

                                         …not pride!

Life is …
… not about pride,
it’s about being proud.

Life is …
… not just about love,
it’s about living love.

Life is …
… not just about value,
it’s about the value of others.

For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son …
      John 3 16

God was so proud of His creation (man)
… that He gave His best on behalf of man!

God so loved His creation (man)
… that He reached out to man who rejected Him!

God so valued His creation (man)
… that He personally expressed His love to man,
by restoring man’s righteousness before Him!

And we have known and believed
the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God,
      and God in him.
      1 John 4 16
