Standing on …

                                 …a sure foundation!
life

A building is sure because of its foundation,
… that is what holds it up
and is what holds it secure!
The foundation on which we stand,
… that holds us up and secure, is
the love of the Father and His commandments.

A building is strong and safe because of its structure,
… that holds it together,
and thus able to perform its function!
The Holy Spirit keeps us safe and strong
according to the working of God’s mighty power
      …which He worked in Christ – (Eph.1 19)
… and in which we stand.

A building’s splendor is in what you see
… its facade, its covering that shows you what it is,
that attracts you to it and that invites you in!
The Lord Jesus is our splendor
… if we allow Him and His love to envelop us
so that the world will see
… a sure, strong glorious ‘church’
in Me – and – on Me!

How awesome are Your works!
Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
All the earth shall worship You
and sing praises to You;

They shall sing praises to Your name.
Psalm 66 3-4

A reasonable excuse…

                                    …or lying to yourself?

What do we do or say
… when things went wrong
… or when we did something wrong?
We make excuses!

      However are those excuses valid
… or are we lying to ourselves?

But … I don’t lie to myself!
Really?

      The reality is that,
… every time we make an excuse
… we are lying to our self!

An excuse is simply a justification,
… trying to justify something
… that was actually NOT right in the first place.

It is covering up the truth,
… instead of facing what is wrong
      and doing what is right!

Whereas … when you give a reason
why something is as it is,
your are exposing the truth.
… as well as what actually happened,
thus taking the responsibility,
… so that what there should be, can be!

For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed,
nor hidden that will not be known.
      Luke 12 2

What is the difference between…

                            capitalism, socialism & Love?

What is the difference between
… capitalism, socialism and Love?

Capitalism is about what I can benefit from what I do!
Socialism is about what others do for me!
      And love…?
Love is about what I do for others!

Now on the surface it would seem that
… capitalism is most beneficial,
and even socialism
… seems to be a wonderful option as well.
But what about love?
It seems only others benefit from it.

But is that true?
Actually … NOT!

There is a physical principle or law,
… that is based on a spiritual principle,
that governs our lives and most everything on earth,
… what we eat, our relationships, etc…
It is the principle of – seedtime and harvest!

Capitalism uses this principle,
… but mainly for personal benefit.
Socialism demands this principle from others
… specifically for personal benefit.
Love, lives this principle,
… applying and thereby benefiting from this principle
and therefore able to receive simply because it gives!

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down,
shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.
For with the same measure that you use,
it will be measured back to you.
      Luke 6 38

What has -Covid- changed?

                                            …actually very little!

Since the spread of the Covid-19 virus,
everyone has been saying that things are changing,
and that nothing will be the same as it was before!

Yes, we may be wearing masks, washing our hands more,
… but since the first easing of restrictions
people have shown themselves to be
… as self centred as they were before!

How come?
As so often is the case, when there is pressure,
… whatever is inside comes straight to the surface.
FEAR…
A fear that is based on … Me!
It’s all about ME!
What I want! What I may lose!

What we put our eyes on, is what influences our lives,
… and if we limit ourselves to ME
what will we influence or positively impact?

Instead we should be resisting that fear
… by dealing with its root cause, ME!
Because when we put our eyes on others,
… on what we can do for them,
      … to improve their lives
a potential is released that can move mountains!

Want to be a mountain mover?
Put your eyes on the One who can move mountains,
make Him your source, your strength and your future.

And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Phil 4:19

It’s all about decisions

                                          … you make!

Life is about making decisions,
… even though they may not always come so easily!

However,
once you understand the reason for making decisions,
… that it is about commitment and direction,
the direction your life should be taking,
… and where you are going to be tomorrow,
then making a decision will become so much easier!

Because, unless you make a decision,
      … you have no direction!
Your future is not just on hold,
… but in danger of outside interference!
      And on top of that,
… the longer you take to reach a decision,
… the more the problem seems to increase.

So learn to make decisions,
and don’t be intimidated by having to decide.

But what if I don’t know if it’s the right decision?
That is absolutely no problem!
You have help …

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come,
He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on
      His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come.
      John 16 13

Ask Him to help you make decisions,
… and let His peace be your guide!

Live in the supernatural

                                      … not in the superlative!
life

God, what an awesome sunrise you painted this morning!

So often our words and responses
… to others, to happenings, events or actions,
are in the superlative and astounding,
wow that’s great, super, awesome, the best, etc.

NOT that what we say is not sincere…
      However…
when it comes to the supernatural,
… what SUPER do we have left for God?
If in our talking and thus thinking,
we use the same vernacular for everyday occurrences
… as we do for the things of God,
we put God, who He is, and what He does,
… on the same level as natural things!

Let’s not lose the superlatives,
but let’s remember to put God into them,
so that God can be the awesome God that He is.

I pray, Lord God of heaven,
      O great and awesome God,
      Neh 1 5

The Lord is high above all nations,
      His glory above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God,
      Who dwells on high,
Who humbles Himself to behold the things
that are in the heavens and in the earth?
      Ps 113 4-6

Living from …

… the inside out!

Living from the inside out…

The reality of life is that
you are what you say,
because you say what you think!

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Prov 23 7

And, what is it that you think?
What you think is the result of,
… or in response to what you allow into your life!
So …
Take heed what you hear.
Mark 4 24

Because quite simply,
If you expose yourself to the world’s noise,
… to all the negative thinking and talking,
your thinking and talking will become as negative,
… and will likewise shape your life and your future!

For this very reason the Bible instructs us to …

Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues (forces) of life.
Prov 4 23

In other words…
Let God’s Word and His principles be your standard
… and be the filter of what you see, read and hear.
For if God’s Word is your standard,
His promises will be your future.

Having pride…

                                          … or simply proud?

There is nothing wrong in having pride,
… pride in what you have done,
and being proud of an achievement.
But not when that pride
… is in self and in being self-sufficient.

      Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.
      Prov 16 18

Pride is most often only about self,
… having too high an opinion of oneself,
… seeing oneself as better than others,
and is mostly fictitious,
because it is all about you and you alone!

      However,
you should be proud and not boastful of your achievements,
… appreciative of what you are able to do,
and grateful of being that person
… that God made you to be!

Not prideful in your own estimation (who you think you are)
… but proudly standing for who you are (in Him).

Proud of what you are able to achieve,
… touching and building the lives of others
in Him, with Him and for Him!

A rough…

                                                 … diamond!

We are so quick to judge others
… by what we presume their characters to be
based on what we can see or hear,
… when all we truly know is what is on the outside.

If you have ever seen a un-cut diamond
… you will know that what you see
is NOT the true value or character of that stone.

When God looks at us what does He see?
Not a worthless looking un-cut diamond (that we see),
… but a sparkling jewel that only needs polishing.

What is the difference?

Unless we look for value in others,
… all we see are their faults and weaknesses,
and therefore we judge by the negative we see.

When God looks at us He only sees the positive,
… the value and potential in us,
not judging our faults or weaknesses
… but highlighting our strengths, potential and value!

Start looking past what is wrong,
… past what you see on the outside,
… by looking for the pure that is on the inside.
As you start highlighting that hidden value,
… not only will it cover, but even dispel what is wrong,
by building on and developing what is good, what is pure!

And above all things have fervent love for one another,
for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’
      1 Peter 4 8

A living example

                                     …imitating Him!

Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it.
      Proverbs 22 6

A well known proverb,
… but have we really understood what it means?

Is training your child according to God’s principles,
… telling them how they should live
and when they are old they will live right?

Well that is our interpretation,
but is it God’s interpretation?

Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
      1 Corinthians 11 1

God wants us to lead by example,
by living our lives before our children
… according to His principles,
so our children will see in our example
… how God’s principles are lived.

      Then, when they are old,
… they will live what has become real to them,
because they not only heard it from you,
… but experienced and saw it real – in you!
